Seth Ramsey's Work on Exhibit through June 27th
I have obviously been behind on Blog posts. Which is too bad because KEAG has had some amazing work on exhibit. This month, we have the work of artist Seth Ramsey from Lawrence, KS. His unique process yields abstract images noted for their depth of color and texture. Evoking emotions from tension to tranquility, his works are well worth stopping in to see. His exhibit, Centenial Anthem, will be on display through June 27th.

YAYA Boxes at KEAG Gallery
An Evening Class for Ladies
What is a YAYA Box?
YAYA boxes are art vessels of dreams.
Images on the inside tell the story of experiences that build our dreams, and the outside, images of dreams made manifest.
We'll employ collage and other embellishment techniques, discuss color, composition, and imagery. More importantly we'll have a lovely evening enjoying each others' company and stories in a creative environment. No particular skill required, just a sense of adventure and desire to express your creativity.
EVERY BOX WILL BE GORGEOUS!!
Join us the evening of Thursday, March 26th
6:00-8:00 PM
Class size is limited to 6
$30 plus $5 for materials
Registration closes March 21.
No refunds for cancellations after March 21
This rollicking, good-fun class is taught by Dona Fleming, fiber and mixed media artist. Nearly 20 years of teaching fiber art and related classes, Dona's goal is to nurture the creative flame in each student.

portraits [in]justice: facing social justice issues in post-war Liberia
Opening Reception for portraits [in]justice is Saturday, March 7 from 6 to 8pm at Laramie’s KEAG Gallery. The exhibit features the photography of Jeminie Shell, who during the summer of 2008, was immersed in the politics, culture, and chaos of post-war Liberia. She spent nine weeks in the capital city and traveled into the country’s rural areas as an intern with DUCOR Waste Management, an organization that works to improve the poor environmental health conditions contributing to Liberia's horrible health and mortality statistics.
Jeminie’s portraits reveal the beauty and resilience of the poorest populations of Liberia as they face day-to-day social and environmental injustices and work to slowly improve their lives in post-war Liberia.
A portion of the proceeds from this exhibit will be donated to water and sanitation projects in Liberia.
The exhibit will be open through March 31st.

Byron Seeley's Work coming to KEAG
The work of Byron Seeley will soon be available at KEAG Gallery. The swirls of color in his Red Canyon Ware collection intrigues collectors and has been noted by the Los Angeles Times as "one of the craftiest veins of ceramic art."
We look forward to having his work.
